Lonely Mornings
It's early in the morning
Sun is not yet up
Mist is shrouding roadways
I've got coffee in my cup.
Dogs are begging breakfast
Paper thuds against the door
Midnight loonies on Talk radio
And I'm missing you much more.
Car windshield fogs over
There's not another car in sight
I see myself in the rear view
That hair just looks a fright.
The early morning distractions
As I was rushing out the door
Old car didn't want to start
And I'm missing you much more.
It's early in the morning
Sun is still not up
Mist swirls as I pass through it
I drain coffee from my cup.
I pull into the parking lot
Spiral up to the 8th floor
Find a spot near the elevator

About Barbara O'Toole
Be it bold or sophisticated I love color! I work in multiple mediums and my palette reflects my mood and thoughts at the time. The pure pigments of pastel, the textures of acrylic and oil, the subtlety of graphite and ink, the exactness of color pencil may excite me to exuberant work or soothe me to quiet and thoughtful results. It all displays pieces of me and tell my story. I am a California Artist who grew up in New York's City Island. From there I moved to Arizona and attended Arizona State University.
